Matthew 4:4 “But Jesus answered and said, It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Yesterday was the first day our team was able to do ministry in the streets of Chichicastenango. Our ministry host, Pastor Juan, partners with the police here in Chichi. Not only that, but the head of the police department is also a woman who serves as a chaplain. Though a language barrier was evident, the compassion we were met with through their eyes was that from Father’s heart. Their heart for the people is absolutely incredible!

We were able to come alongside the police and pass out baskets of bread in this precious community.

With each basket of bread given, we prayed over the individual and their family.

Our hope and heart’s intent behind the giving of these bread-baskets was to lead to our loving Savior.

In John 6:35, Jesus calls himself the Bread of Life; I love this.

This brings me to think of how many are physically hungry today. Our hearts are deeply moved by compassion when we see such a need going unmet. Let’s put on our spiritual lenses. Think about how many more are going spiritually hungry.. the many who are without the true Bread of Life, Jesus Christ. Most of us if we had food and saw a soul in need we would give our food. Yet, how many do we pass by that are so spiritually deprived, and we do not share the Hope we have in Christ.

Matthew 25:35-36 “For I was hungry and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger and ye took me in: Naked and ye clothed me: I was sick and ye visited me: I was in prison and ye came unto me.”

I long for this verse to describe my life, but more so I long for every soul that I cross paths with to encounter the Father’s love.

Father, let my life be the proof of Your Love.

Your Beloved, kel

  1. Sweet Angela! I was just talking about you to my team the other day and what a blessing you are to me!
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! MISS YOU SO MUCH!! Let me know if there is anything I can be praying for you !

  2. KELSEY! It is so good to hear from you. I think of you often and when I’m really missing you, I pull up your blog.
God has really been doing some great things in, with, and through me. I will ask for prayers for clarity in decision making and direction. A lot of good things are coming my way, but I also want to make sure that they are God things!
    Thanks Kelsey!
