Proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.”

I tend to out of my own understanding view everything as right or either wrong. We all know the difference between right and wrong, thinking in such a way holds much validity. However, I know I can then view every choice that is before me as the right choice and the wrong choice. I can also view other’s choices in the same manner. The facet we tend to forget about is the free will  which our loving God has bestowed to us.

Have you ever had a difficult decision to make, and you are not sure what is the right thing to do? You have gone to scripture; you have prayed; you have fasted; you have confided in one whom you can trust, and still cannot seem to find a clear answer. In these times I think it is a lot more simple then we make it: free will. Scripture says in 1 Corinthians 14:33, “Our God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.”

I know it is easy to lean unto my own understanding and think if I take the wrong step then the Lord’s will won‘t be done. In Proverbs 3:5-6, God tells us the way to know for sure we are making the right steps. The ticket is “Acknowledge Him in ALL things.”

So, if there is a decision before you that has been weighing heavy on your shoulders, I urge you to instead of asking what is right and what is wrong..ask the Lord to search your heart. Lay it down and pray for the Lord’s will to be done. And if you are still indecisive and not hearing a clear way, maybe He is letting you decide. There is the beauty in free will. Many times the Lord will not give us a clear answer; instead, He longs for our hearts every day through every moment just to acknowledge Him.

Jesus, I love you.

Forgive me for so often leaning unto my own understanding.

Thank you for giving the beauty of free will.

I long for a heart that chooses and acknowledges You in everything.

Remind us that Your way is simple; You say “Seek me and you will find me.”

Thank you, Jesus

Your Beloved, Kel
