“Lord, have Your way in me…”

I have prayed this prayer a lot, yet I have gone right back to ‘my way’. I think back to the many times I have prayed with the mindset of “Here I am, Lord, laying this down so You can bless me even more.”

Such fickle love. Lord, forgive my fickle, selfish heart.

When we have really met with Jesus and when we understand the gift of this life that has been given, we live truly out of a deeply rooted love for our God.

There are no ulterior motives or selfish ambitions behind our surrender.

I encourage you to ask yourself what is the motive behind your actions are today.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”

What a statement to declare and choose at all times, “I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”

I long each day to lay down every ounce selfish ambition and to take joy in the God of my salvation.

..To continuing serving when no one is watching

To love when no love is returned

To turn my cheek and leave the rest to my Father

To pray fervently out of pure desire to just be in the Father’s Presence..

This is the cry of my heart today and every day:

Father, make me a vessel utterly FOR YOU.

A vessel of Your goodness

A vessel of Your grace

A vessel of Your kindness

A vessel of Your compassion

A vessel of Your mercy

A vessel of Your humility

A vessel of Your truth

A vessel of Your love.

Though broken, cracked, and bruised.. You pick up the pieces and beautifully hold them together.

Lord, truly have Your way in me.

Father, restore to me the JOY of my salvation.

Your Beloved, Kel

One response to “Make me a Vessel”

  1. I love hearing and seeing how God is continuing to fashion you into His image and how it encourages me to press in more and to be even more yielded to His will.
