What does a day in Chichi look like?

Hi Friends! We are just a few days out from our quarantine period being over here in Guatemala.

During this time my team and I have not been permitted to leave the mission base at New Generation church. We have been helping sweet Pastor Juan and his family with renovations around the property.

My day starts early with Jesus; I have my quiet time on steps overlooking the beautiful mountains and valleys of Guatemala with a warm cup of coffee in hand.

Yah! COFFEE! Thank you, God!

Juan loves coffee and makes us a fresh pot every morning which seems as if it is an endless Mary-Poppins pot. We then do Covid checks; every morning our team must log any symptoms we might have and each of us must take our temperatures.

WE have a wonderful breakfast which alternates between cereal, toast and eggs, and pancakes! Our sweet ministry hosts certainly out-do themselves!

After breakfast we have been hitting the ground running with the renovations. So far, I have plastered and painted a lot !

We have built doors; well, let me re-phrase that. My door had to be taken apart, but some of the handier guys on our team put it back together very well.

The past few days we have been digging a hole. A very large hole having to be big enough to fit a massive, water tank in the ground.

Being at a higher elevation than normal, Juan needed the water supply to be held lower. It has been , well, dirty. But, a lot of fun. That’s right ! With Jesus even digging a hole can be a fun time ! Also, let’s just say I have a whole new appreciation for construction workers!

Our day usually ends around 5pm. Then we have dinner and end the day with team time/ feedback.

There, honestly has been much down time during this quarantine period too.

It has giving me ample opportunity to have many, sweet moments just sitting with our loving Lord.

He has been teaching me a lot. I love to ask Holy Spirit to show and reveal to me, “How can I better bring HIS Kingdom to my everyday?”

Holy Spirit used this question to prompt me to ask myself what my outlook of life was then...

I long for HEAVEN to be my outlook.

What is your outlook on today?

Is it the eternal of Heaven?

Or the temporariness of now and requiring all that one day will fade?

Deuteronomy 30:16 “In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whether thou goest to posses it.”

True living is life with Jesus, friends.

Jesus, you are so so so sweet. I pray these words You have given in Deuteronomy over whoever is reading this.

Thank you for the beauty in the simplicity.

Thank you for deeming me worthy to be here serving in Guatemala for Your Kingdom.

Thank you that You are a God who multiplies and desires to use us to do so.

I continue to just be awestruck by You, father.

I pray my outlook for every day given is Heaven.

Continue to show and reveal to me how heaven can be brought into my everyday.

Your Beloved, Kel
