John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have first loved you.”
Hi, friends I would love to tell you a story about Mr. Mosconi. Stick with me here; this is not an individual in which I knew, but I love his devotion and dedication.
Mr. Mosconi followed the same routine for 6 mornings of the week. His job was at the violin museum near city hall in Cremona, Italy. His fingers kept the most treasured violins in the world fit. One who is instrumental knows that instruments which go unplayed and not used.. Well, actually I am not precisely sure what happens, but something bad and not good happens. Mr. Mosconi on a continual basis brought the best out of these violins.
I long to be a Mr. Mosconi. The reason for this, since most of us (especially me) are not violinists, is that I want my life to be lived to bring the best out of others.
1 John 4:11 “Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”
Just as each of these violins are unique, so is every individual on this earth; they are finely, tuned instruments crafted by the Hand of God.
Yet, how easy is it to give way to the tid-bits of negative thoughts that arise with our neighbors.
Agape is the word used for love in the Greek; it is unbelievable, selfless love. The kind that is just unachievable in and of ourselves. It is only by receiving our Father’s Love that we are able to love our neighbor as God commands.
I think it is important that we notice the significance of the Father’s command to “love thy neighbor as thyself.” He could have said “love everybody always” as Bob Golf does, but He didn’t.
I believe this is because it is much harder for us to love our neighbor than a stranger. If I am honest, what we are doing on this race is quite normal..extending love to strangers and to those in need, but what about our brothers and sisters who constantly annoy us; what about our friends when we see their pride and selfishness surface..This is when the agape (love) becomes tough and our hearts tend to harden.
Agape love pushes past the annoyances and preferences;
Agape love forgives when the offense is high;
Apape love offers patience when the stress is heavy;
Agape love extends kindness when kindness is scarce
We love with agape love when we have come to experience the love of our Father, but not just by knowing it. We most likely all have heard since we were little the infamous phrase, “Jesus loves me.”
But, do we live in that love?
Have we let God’s love seep into the innermost recesses of our lives?
In order to fill, we ourselves must be filled. This takes time as it does with any relationship. But, the more devotion we have to the Father and the more time we take to know the Father’s heart.. the more we see through His eyes and love with His Love.
Imagine the joy you will find in people; living life will become a stroll through God’s art gallery.
Are you truly living in the abundance of the Father’s Love, today?
Lord, I long to be a Mr. Mosconi to my little world.
In the innermost recesses of my heart where places might be hardened, I long for Your Agape to fill them completely.
Help me Father to see each soul as You do.
I long to see Your world and Your people as a museum of divine treasures.
I long to be an encourager, to uplift, and to speak life where life is needed.
Your Beloved, Kel
