Upon our arrival Monday afternoon..

Juan, our ministry host, shared with us how his wife was pregnant, yet she was having various complications. Our team immediately asked if we could pray over sweet Evelyn (Juan’s wife). We spent the whole next day praying while Juan took Evelyn to the doctor. Our team determined we would pray consistently from 7am-7pm. Juan eventually returned and shared how the doctor had detected no baby within Evelyn’s womb, and how rare of a situation this was.

It was absolutely touching and impactful to hear from Juan’s broken heart; Though he did not understand with tears in his eyes, he still proclaimed that he fully trusted God.

A few days later Evelyn returned home, yet still not with the results we had all been fervently praying for.

Please do keep this sweet Pastor and his family in your prayers.

I share this with you, because I know we have all been here. Heavy burdened and heart broken, when the prayers we have cried out are not answered, and it seems as if God is a million miles away.

Psalms 34 tells us our Father is near to the broken-hearted and hears our every cry.

Still, many times I have been in the place of asking, “God why.”

And that is certainly okay if you are in that place today.

But, something God has taught me through hard and trying times is the underlying, bottom line..

HE IS GOOD

I don’t have to understand.

I am a lot of times not going to understand.

But, I know my God is good, and that will never change.

This I declare as the foundation on which I build my life: God is Good.

I encourage you today to keep the truth of who God is always in front of You.

He has healed everyone of us; He made a way when there was no way. We have life only by Jesus’ shed blood.

Revelation 21:4 “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any pain: for the former things have passed away.”

We have Divine Hope today, friends. Our actions everyday should flow from the finished work of what Christ has already done.

Juan and his precious family certainly do live in this light; though their hearts are broken, they still proclaim the goodness of our Father.

What tremendous, beautiful faith!

Father, thank you for the privilege of prayer.

Thank you that in Your absolute sovereignty, God, you bend down to hear and be with each and every one of us.

Thank you for always working and moving whether our feeble, human minds see it or not.

God, you are good, always good.

May Your goodness and Who You are be the foundation for every day we live this life.

Your beloved, Kel

One response to “The Power of Prayer”

  1. Well, I needed that this morning Kelsey. Thank you and it is so true. Regardless of what we are going through, He is STILL good. In 1Cor. 13:12 it shares that now we see through the glass dimly. God will either makes things clear later or in the heareafter (like Job). We just have to TRUST Him and His word because we have a track record with that. We also just need to ask Him to walk through those difficult times and to help us and to guide us. He IS faithful. Thank you.
