Hi Friends! I would love to share with you a little more about the ministry that we have been able to partake here in Jaco!
God is so sweet, cool, and kind to give little reminders of home. There is no other like Him!
Acts 4:12 states, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under the heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The church we are working alongside is called Horizon.
We have been attending services here, participating in noon prayer and worship, and have been giving the opportunity to help with their youth ministry on Thursday nights.
The Youth ministry is led by Todd and Alicia. A sweet couple who are from the Carolinas! Alicia has been to one of my favorite little cafes in Charleston; It was a sweet connection and reminder of how BIG our God is. He brings people together and allows paths to cross in the most beautiful ways when we are willing and available.
Todd and Alicia have created this safe place for the youth at Horizon Church here in Jaco. It has been such a blessing to be a part of it!
It is always a good time. We start off with games like “who can build the best balloon tower“ (featured below); During this time we intentionally get to know the youth and just have fun with them.
Gean Carlo (worship leader at Horizon) then leads us in worship, directing our focus back to the purpose of us being here..to deeper know our Father.
We all lose purpose and focus at times. We have all been in a place of searching: whether it be searching for worth in all the wrong places, searching for truth, or maybe just searching for the meaning behind this life, etc..
Searching a lot of the time leads to a void..a feeling of emptiness. Emptiness is a heavy load to bear; I think it is safe to say we have all felt this load.
Friends, that void becomes complete ONLY IN OUR JESUS! (Get Hype! You have Him with you today, right in this moment)
It is when we bend low and open our hearts wide in complete surrender saying “JESUS, IT IS YOU. ONLY YOU” that we discover true purpose and fulfillment.
I long to capture the essence of this “no other, but JESUS” reality daily.
Acts 20:24 “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I have received from the Lord Jesus to testify to the Gospel of the Grace of God.”
I ask myself is this the posture of my heart. I urge you to ask yourself the same today. Why are you doing what you are doing? Is it to glorify and bring honor to Our Father?
Lord, may everything we do be done for Your utmost glory.
Remind me to recapture this reality daily..
this life is not my own.
Pray we continue to capture Your Presence, Lord, in the sweetest of ways today.
Not capture it to keep it but to pour out to those around us and the places needed here in Jaco.

It is so good to see these precious youth. How beautiful they are and how much they mean to our Father. You are truly the hands, the feet, and the heart of Jesus. May God continue to Bless you Kelsey and provide all of your needs according to His riches in glory ??
