I love mornings. I have especially loved the mornings here in Jaco.

Lamentations 3:22-23 “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy Faithfulness.”

 I am certain my Jesus meets me every morning. I know He never leaves; I long to continuously walk in prayer with Him being led by His Spirit throughout the day. However, our morning meet is to get my heart in tune with His;

It is a time of searching, laying down, and surrender.

Psalm 139:23-24 “ Search me , O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:And see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.

A time of thankfulness just for His Presence and this life remembering that our access to God is through Jesus’ torn flesh.

A time to sit with Him and listen for His still, small Voice.

What I love about these mornings in Jaco is that there are a lot of us here at Oceans Edge ministry. It has made me so aware of the vastness of our God. He ever so presently meets every one of His dear children as we cry out to Him.

The Hebrew word for “fellowship with the Father” is..

Koinonia’

Your Koinonia does not have to be first thing in the morning; but, Koinonia should be a place we come to daily. A place we bring our heavy hearts longing for more of our Father by just seeking to know Him deeper.

Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.”

This Hebrew word has always struck a chord in my heart. If nothing else I long to have true ‘Koinonia‘ with the Father daily. This past Sunday, Pastor Daniel of Horizon church spoke of this Hebrew word that I hold so close to my heart. Pastor spoke from the passage of Acts 2:42, “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”

“God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.” -John Piper

We can never Know Him enough. Our God is so vast and deep. I think of a song I would sing as a little girl, “Deep and wide, deep and wide.. there is a fountain running deep and wide, bumbumbuhdedum..”

Friends, His goodness and love are forever running so deep and wide. The question is will we quiet our minds and hearts to partake of such love today?

God, soften our hearts

Help us to be steadfast people devoted to You.

Pray every day I come to a place of true Koinonia.

Pray that my life would radiate proof that I have been in fellowship with You, Father.

Your Beloved, Kel

  1. Searching. Laying down. Surrender.

Kelsey, your posts always seem to meet me where I need to be met and enlighten us all on the important work that you are doing and how we also have our own mission field wherever we are. It is a very intricate process and purpose, but through God, we can do it. Thanks so much for this word.

  2. What a beautiful depiction of intimacy with the Father. Thank you for leading us into deeper communion so we may live worthy of the call!
